What counts as a mini trampoline here
Sellers use mini trampoline for three different things. This page covers the netted frames from 4.5ft to 6ft; the other two have their own pages.
| Type | Frame | Support | Where to look |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toddler bouncer | 81 to 91 cm | Handle | Toddler and junior models |
| Fitness rebounder | 100 to 102 cm | Handle or none | Rebounders for adults |
| Netted mini trampoline | 140 to 183 cm | Full net | This page |
| Garden trampoline | 8ft (244 cm) and up | Net, ladder, anchors | Garden sizes |
Frame size is not mat size
The size in the title is the frame. The jumping mat is smaller, and padding covers part of the ring, so a 140 cm mini trampoline leaves room for one small child and no more.
Mini trampoline height and floor space
The net makes a mini trampoline far taller than it is wide. The listings give both figures for six of the eight.
| Model | Frame | Height with net |
|---|---|---|
| GALACTICA 4.5ft | 140 cm | 160 cm |
| Plum Stardust Junior | 140.2 cm (size field) | 179.8 cm |
| HOMCOM 4.6ft | 140 cm | 190 cm |
| AIYAPLAY 4.6ft | 140 cm | 190 cm |
| SONGMICS 5.7ft | 174 cm | 189 cm |
| Zupapa 6ft | 183 cm | 195 cm |
Indoors: the ceiling
Most UK rooms are around 2.4 m high. A 190 cm net fits under that, but the child bounces above the mat, so a bedroom suits the lower 140 cm frames better than a 6ft one.
Floors and grip
SONGMICS lists anti-slip foot pads, ZCMHAXJ suction pads on each U-shaped leg, and HOMCOM six metal legs. On wooden floors, a rug under the legs protects both.
Weight figures on a mini trampoline listing
HOMCOM and AIYAPLAY give a 45 kg maximum, Zupapa 50 kg. These are the numbers that apply to the child on the mat, one at a time.
SONGMICS gives 50 kg dynamic and 250 kg static: the 50 kg is the jumper's figure. ZCMHAXJ's 440 lbs title and MERACH's 150 kg bullet, written for sizes up to 16ft, need checking in the manual for the frame you buy.

Elastic ropes or springs in a mini trampoline
The bounce system splits the eight in two. Ropes and bungee keep metal away from the mat edge; springs give the count that most garden frames use.
| System | Models | Count in the listing |
|---|---|---|
| Elastic ropes or bungee | SONGMICS, AIYAPLAY, HOMCOM | 32 on SONGMICS, 30 on AIYAPLAY |
| Steel springs | Zupapa, Plum Stardust Junior, GALACTICA, MERACH | 36 on Zupapa, 30 on Plum |
What the spring sellers add
Plum coats its 30 springs in zinc, and MERACH says its galvanised springs were tested for over 50,000 bounce cycles, a seller's test. Each covers the springs with padding.
Entrances and the underside: how we checked them
We went round each mini trampoline listing for the two places children get in where they should not: the door and the gap under the frame.
- SONGMICS: a double zip, opened from inside and out, and a lower enclosure that closes off the underside.
- AIYAPLAY: a zipped door and a bottom net against crawling underneath.
- HOMCOM: zips inside and outside on the net door.
- Zupapa: a dual-headed zip plus a ladder with wide steps.
- MERACH: a zip-lock closure and an anti-slip ladder.
Ladders on the 6ft frames
Only the two 6ft spring frames list a ladder, Zupapa and MERACH, both on W-shaped bases. The 140 cm models list none: a child steps in through the door.

Ages, and moving on from a mini trampoline
HOMCOM and AIYAPLAY name ages 3 to 6. Zupapa's title says kids and adults, but its 50 kg limit points to children. RoSPA advises that children under six should not use full-size trampolines, which is where a frame of this size fits.
- Outgrown at 45 to 50 kg: the next step is an 8ft garden trampoline.
- Building a 6ft spring frame: our assembly guide covers springs and poles.
- Rules for every session: see trampoline safety.

Frequently asked questions
- Can a mini trampoline stay outside?
Some can be used outdoors, but bring them in after use unless the listing says otherwise. The 6ft spring frames from Zupapa and MERACH are built for the garden; MERACH supplies ground anchors.
- Will one fit in a bedroom?
A 140 cm frame usually will, with space to walk round it and a ceiling well above the 160 to 190 cm net.
- Are tools needed for assembly?
Only those supplied: Plum includes a spring loading tool, GALACTICA says all tools come in the box, and MERACH says no special tools are needed.
- Can an adult use a 6ft trampoline?
Only within the stated limit, and Zupapa's is 50 kg. MERACH's 150 kg figure is written for its whole range, so confirm it for the 6ft first.
- Is 4.5ft the same as 4.6ft?
In practice, yes: both are sellers' names for a 140 cm frame, also sold as 55-inch.
- Why does the MERACH come with a sprinkler hose?
It is a summer extra: the seller supplies a detachable hose that sprays water over the mat, plus an LED light strip with a remote.
